HSSA places thousands of companion
animals each year into the lifelong
care of responsible, loving homes.
We use an application and interview
process to ensure that each animal
adopted will be matched with
the most compatible new owner.

There are many breeds of dogs
that are great with children.
Almost all dogs that grow up
as puppies with children do great
with kids. Breeds such retrievers
frequently make wonderful companions
for families with small children.

All dogs and cats are checked
for good health and sound temperament
before they are placed into our
adoption program.

All dogs adopted from our facility
receives initial vaccinations
for DHPP (distemper/parvo), Bordatella
(Kennel Cough) and dogs over
3 months of age also receive
a Rabies virus vaccine.

All cats adopted from our facility
receive a 3-way (distemper/upper
respiratory) vaccination and
cats over 3 months receive Rabies
virus vaccination.

All cats are tested for Feline
Leukemia.

Spay or netuer. All animals
are spayed or neutered before
they are released to their new
owners.

Every day,
the staff and volunteers of the Humane
Society of Arizona are charged with providing
the best possible care for the animals
brought to us. Regardless of temperament,
health, age, or species, it is our responsibility
to create a healthy environment in which
the animal receives the humane and loving
treatment it deserves.
